I made a short drive west from Clean Wave’s Metro Detroit office to attend ITEC 2017 in Chicago from June 21-23. The conference had around 300 attendees from automakers to industrial manufacturers, testing suppliers, and academics from across the globe.
The first night, Toyota Motor North America presented at the city’s Illinois Institute of Technology in the Herman Hall Ballroom. The focus of the presentation was on the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric vehicle, which is one of the first such vehicles on the market.
The rest of the conferencetook place at Navy Pier. The agenda included several presentations on components, systems, standards, and grid interface technologies related to power conversion for all types of electrified transportation.

I was able to see and network with the providers of a wide range of electric, hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technologies as well as heavy-duty, rail, off-road vehicles, and airplanes.
